Bajío, the manufacturer of high-end performance fishing and lifestyle sunglasses, is excited to announce the launch of its Rx sunglass program, marking the brand’s first step into the prescription eyewear market since launching in April, 2021. This program provides prescription services for all 12 frame styles through Bajío’s in-house Rx team and partner Rx dealers across the country.
Bajío’s line of prescription sunglasses will come in proprietary single vision and progressive lenses, utilizing their LAPIS technology that blocks 95% of blue light up to 440 nm and the majority of intense yellow light at its peak of 580 nm. This means no more hazy days and no more color interference. These polycarbonate lenses will be available on the Bajío website and at Rx dealer locations across the country.
“We’re excited to offer Bajio sunglasses in prescription and to welcome all RX sunglass wearers to the Bajio family. We think they’ll really enjoy the clarity of our lenses and our progressive design that’s built for the water“, says Al Perkinson, CEO and Founder of Bajío Sunglasses.
Bajío’s prescription sunglasses are made for fishing and other watersports and feature glare-blocking technology, oleophobic and hydrophobic coating, and LAPIS lens technology. By utilizing Bajío’s LAPIS technology, their prescription sunglasses will reduce the harmful effects of blue light, which causes haze and eye strain.
Where typical prescription glasses are made for general purpose tasks and sitting down to read the Sunday paper, Bajío’s proprietary Rx lenses utilize cutting-edge digital processing technology to provide edge-to-edge visual clarity, comfort, and maximum performance. Bajio Rx lenses are customized for movement and all-day fishing action as well as quiet moments when attention to detail truly counts.
“Bajío’s progressive lens is no off-the-shelf general purpose sport design,” says Renato Cuppuccitti VP of Operations/Rx at Bajio Sunglasses. “Our proprietary progressive lens was custom designed and tested with world-class anglers to ensure the maximum field of vision while fishing streams, lakes, rivers, and open ocean, with just the right amount of reading area to tie flies, check out your GPS, or dig into your tackle box.”
Bajío sunglasses are available through independent Rx retailers and at bajiosunglasses.com. You can learn more about them on their website or by visiting them on social media on their Facebook Page, Instagram page, or Youtube Channel.
Spanish for “the shallows”, Bajío strives to improve the quality of life for the world’s saltwater flats, the eco-systems they support, and the communities that depend on them. Bajío glasses are made with sustainability at the forefront, using plant-based materials in their frames, and high-quality glass lenses built to filter out the bad and enhance the good.
